How Little Funday works
Every day we collect what is happening for kids across the Las Vegas valley, check it by hand, and put it together for your family. Here is each step, from the library calendar to your phone.
1. We find what is happening
We go through the calendars that post kids’ events around the valley every day: the library districts, the city and county parks departments, Springs Preserve, the Discovery Children’s Museum, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, the Nevada State Museum, Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead. Our tools flag what is new or changed, and we take it from there.
We also track down events no calendar lists. We keep an eye on local venues, community groups and the things other parents tell us about, and add the good ones ourselves, because not every great Saturday morning is on an official calendar.
2. We check it
Before anything goes on the list, we check it ourselves and make sure the basics are right: the date, the time, where it is, what it costs and which ages it suits. If something is unclear, we leave it out rather than guess. When the same event shows up in two places, you only see it once.
Every listing links back to the organizer and shows when we last checked it, so you can confirm before you drive across town.
3. You filter once
Tell us your kids’ ages, where you live and how far you are willing to drive, and the list narrows to what fits. We describe ages as stages rather than exact years, because a program for “ages 3–5” rarely cares whether your kid turned four last week:
- Crawler, 0–1
- Walker, 1–3
- Explorer, 3–5
- Climber, 5–8
- Adventurer, 8–12
- Teen, 12+
Free first, indoors when it’s hot
Free activities always sort to the top. On days when the forecast climbs past the point where a playground is a bad idea, the list leans toward indoor options — libraries, museums, rec centers — so you are not scrolling past splash pads at 112°. You can turn either default off in Explore.
4. You plan and go
Save anything you like the look of. Members can sync saved events to Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar, and we send an alert if a saved event is moved, changed or canceled — libraries reshuffle rooms and parks cancel for wind more often than you would think. Every Thursday our email lands in your inbox with two picks for the weekend; members get every idea for the weekend, matched to your kids and your area. The calendar view shows the two weeks ahead and the month, handy for CCSD breaks.
5. What the free preview shows
You do not need an account to use Little Funday. The free preview shows today’s first two activities, every event page with map and directions, and the Thursday email with two weekend picks. That is enough to find something to do most days.
Little Funday Plus unlocks all of today, 14 days ahead plus the month view, every list matched to each kid’s age, change alerts, calendar sync and the personalized digest. It is $3.99 a month after a 7-day free trial, and nothing is charged until day 8. The full comparison is on the pricing page.
6. For venues and libraries
If you run a library branch, a park program, a museum or a rec center, you can submit an event, claim an existing listing to keep it accurate, or ask us to remove one. Start on the venues page.
Questions parents ask
How often is the list updated?
Every day. Our systems check the calendars each morning, we add events by hand as we find them, and every listing shows when we last checked it. A change an organizer posts in the afternoon usually appears by the next morning.
Why do I only see two activities?
That is the free preview: today’s first two activities are open to everyone, every day. The rest of today, the two weeks ahead and age matching are part of Little Funday Plus. You can start a 7-day free trial on the Plus page and nothing is charged until day 8.
How do you know an event is really free?
We only mark an event free when the organizer says admission is free. If parking costs money or it is free only with a membership or library card, the listing says so instead of carrying the FREE badge. Every listing links to the organizer so you can check for yourself.
Can I add my event?
Yes. If you are an organizer, submit it on the venues page; a person reviews it like everything else. If you are a parent who spotted something we missed, email hello@littlefunday.com with the link and we will add the source.
