Wilderness Hikes: Limestone Arches

Have you ever wondered what secrets are hidden beyond Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area’s Scenic Drive? Join a Bureau of Land Management Ranger for a special off-trail wilderness hike into the Rainbow Mountain Wilderness to learn about wilderness areas and how you can keep them wild.

NOTE: This program DOES NOT take place at the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center or the Scenic Drive. You will be provided directions in your confirmation email (check your spam folder). This is a strenuous 6 mi (9.6 km) route with around 1,500 ft (450 m) of elevation gain on rough, unimproved terrain and involves some scrambling. Only recommended for experienced hikers. Interpretive programs at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area are a free public service.

When visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it is important to dress accordingly for the weather. It is recommended to wear sunscreen, appropriate footwear, bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
