Free things to do with kids, by area
One valley, four parks departments, three library districts. Pick your part of town and see what is free near you this week, plus the parks, libraries and splash pads worth the drive.
Metro areas
- Las VegasThis is the city-proper view: downtown, the west side, Centennial Hills, Spring Valley and the Lakes. Little Funday covers the whole valley, but if you live inside the city limits, these are the libraries, parks and museums you will actually drive to.
- HendersonHenderson runs its own libraries and its own parks department, which means a lot of the best free kids’ programming in the valley never shows up on a Las Vegas calendar. This page keeps it in one place, from Green Valley to Anthem to Inspirada.
- SummerlinSummerlin was designed around parks, and it shows: nearly every village has a playground within walking distance, the trails connect them, and Red Rock Canyon is minutes away. Here is how families on the west side fill a free afternoon.
- North Las VegasNorth Las Vegas gets overlooked in valley-wide roundups, which is a shame, because Craig Ranch Regional Park alone could fill a month of weekends. Add its own library district and a national monument on the city’s doorstep and there is plenty to do for free.
